WILLIAMS, Rose MarieRose Marie Williams, nee Smith, age 77, of Shiloh, born October 16, 1936 in Belleville, Ill., passed away Friday morning, April 4, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill. Rose grew up in O'Fallon, graduated from OTHS Class of 1954, and attended dePaul School of Nursing in St. Louis and worked as a nurse in the newborn nursery at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She later became a partner in her husband's trucking business, Clarke Williams Trucking, and drove a truck and co-managed the business. In their later years, they lived on a yacht near Okochobee, Fla., and there, she worked at Okochobee Dialysis Center. After Mr. Williams' death in 2003, Rose moved back to O'Fallon. She was a resident at Cedarhurst of Shiloh and enjoyed her many friends there. She was preceded in death by her, husband Clarke H. Williams, who died March 15, 2003; her daughter Kelly Rose Williams, parents Ardell and Olive, nee Votrian, Smith; parents-in-law Charles and Mildred, nee Voegeli, Stroup. Surviving are her children David (Diana) Williams, of O'Fallon; Kay (Raymond) Bechtel of Pickneyville, Ill., and Douglas Williams of New Athens; grandchildren Chris Williams, Justin (Paige) Williams, Jessica Tipett and Alex Bechtel; great-grandchildren Austin and Sierra Barthel, and Jade Marie Williams; sister Jeanne (Carl) Runkwitz; nephew Todd (Marti) Runkwitz and great-nephew Ethan Runkwitz. Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Burial will follow at Green Mount Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
