Rose L. Johnson Remsen Rose L. Johnson, 94, of Starr Hill, passed away January 18, 2013, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. She was born on October 5, 1918, in Remsen, a daughter of Andrew and Rose Miller Ingersoll. On January 10, 1940, she married Lyle Johnson in Holland Patent. He died in September 1987. Rose, for many years, was employed in the dietary department of Marcy State Hospital, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Ann's/St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beverly Johnson, Remsen; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Gary Oaster, Lake Wales, FL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent, with Reverend Vincent Long officiating. Burial in Fairchild Cemetery, Remsen. Calling hours at Ackley-Mills Funeral Home, 9597 Main Street, Remsen, will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo's Church Memorial Fund or Prospect Ambulance.
