December 1, 2004 Rose Irene Johnson, 89, of Syracuse, beloved mother to Sonja Kuhns, returned to God and her family that predeceased her on Wednesday. Born September 12, 1915 in Oslo, Norway, she emigrated with her family to America at age 8. She wasa lifelong resident of Syracuse who summered in Alexandria Bay. Later, she was a snowbird in Clearwater, FL until her husband's death in 1981. Since that time she had resided with her daughter. Rose worked for Carrier Corp. and later started her own catering company, Rose Johnson Catering. She became known for her distinctive style and panache for elegance. Rose was predeceased by her husband, John Johnson; her parents, Sigard and Thora Jensen Abramson; her stepfather, Anker Jensen; brothers, Frank and William Abramson; and grandson, John Kuhns. Survivors: her daughter, Sonja Johnson Kuhns; granddaughters, Debra Kuhns (Tom) Harmeyer, Linda Kuhns (Paul) Troia, and Sue Jerabek Kuhns; nieces, Jane Mae Abramson Slater and Mary Joy Abramson; and nephew, Clifford "Skippy" Abramson; and great-grandchildren, Kristen, Erica, and Madeline Troia and Andrea and Paul Jerabek. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Monday at First English Lutheran Church, Syracuse. Burial, White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.
