Rose C. Marinoof Medford, ties to Greater Lowell; 96 MEDFORD -- Rose C. (Amara) Marino, age 96, died peacefully at home September 3, 2014, surrounded by loved ones.She was born in West End of Boston, June 13, 1918, daughter of the late Domenic and Maria (Abramo) Amara of Somerville.She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Marino, who predeceased her in 1969. Formerly of Somerville and Medford. Rose graduated from Somerville High in 1936.She was married on September 7, 1936 to Joseph V. Marino, to whom she was happily married for 33 years. They owned Marino and Son Furniture Manufacturing Company of Medford and Woburn.Rose worked for the Medford School system for 17 years as a cafeteria cashier and retired in 1991. She also worked at Cara Donna's bakery for many years. Rose had met some close friends over the years while working, including Sally Finocchio and Esther D'Angeli and maintained those friendships for over 40 years up until her last days.She is survived by her beloved son, Vincent and his wife, Louise, (Noce) of Salem, NH; and devoted daughter, Teresa DiPersio and her husband, Donald, of Tewksbury, with whom she lived with at the time of her passing. She is also survived by her loving and devoted grandchildren, Tina Lowery and her husband, Keith, of Tewksbury, Jason DiPersio and his wife, Kerry, and Valerie Derby and her husband, Tim, all of Tyngsboro, Donna Nordengren and her husband, Ed, Gary Marino and his wife, Josephine, and Eric Marino and his wife, Michelle, all of Salem, NH; and great-grandchildren, Eddie, Erica, Brianna, Jordyn and Vincent, Joshua, Anthony, Katelyn, Brian and Jessica and great-great-granddaughter Lorraine. Sister of Guy Amara of Somerville, and the late Peter Amara, Joe Amara and Mary Nigro. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.The DiPersio family would like to thank some special caregivers that took care of Rose during her last year of her life: Joyce Post and family, family friend, Karen Meyer and from Griswold Home Care: especially Rachel and Joanne and the countless friends of the DiPersios that came over and visited with Grandma.
