Rosa Brown Carter - SAVANNAH - Rosa B. Carter, 88, of Savannah, passed into eternal rest on Friday, January 22, 2010. Mrs. Carter was born January 24, 1921 in Davisboro, GA to the late Benjamin Berrian Brown and Leda Rice Brown. She graduated from business school and worked as a clerk/typist and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert Lawson Carter, Jr., a stepson, Robert "Bobby" Carter, and a brother who died at birth. She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Benjamin J. Carter, and Rosalind Carter and Robert L. Carter and Karen Carter, a cousin, Thomas Rice, step-grandsons, Matthew A. Hutton and Larry Shearouse, Jr., and step-granddaughters, Melissa C. Hutton and Kelly Weaver as well as step-grandsons, Austin Lee, Casey Shearouse, Cody Shearouse, Herbert Bachman Weaver, IV, Cameron Walker Weaver, and Noah Asher Hutton. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Frank Parr, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial: Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.
