Ronald Thomas Casey Alpharetta, GA Ronald T. Casey, husband of Susan A. (nee Coughlin), son of Thomas B. and Evelyn M. Casey, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Utica, MI, while visiting family. Ron was born on May 27, 1936, in Utica, New York, where he graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School and actively competed as a swim team member. He was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY - Class of 1959. Although he attended many college reunions, he was especially looking forward to attending his 50th reunion in May of 2009. Upon graduation, Ron launched his accounting career with the firm of Price Waterhouse & Co. In 1961-62, as a reservist in the Air National Guard, he was on active duty stationed in Phalsbourg, France, for the duration of the Berlin Crisis. In 1965, he joined Alcan Aluminum Corporation where he served in executive financial roles including Controller of several divisions, Corporate Controller, and Treasurer for the U.S. operations. During his 32-year career, he always referred to Alcan as a wonderful company for which to work because it fostered the integrity, work ethic, and spirit of cooperation embodied by its employees. His Alcan colleagues were his cherished friends as were his school and college mates. Ron is survived by his wife, Susan, and sons, Brian, Michael (Kimberly), Kevin (Gina) and Terence (Jennifer). He leaves his brother, Thomas J. Casey (Catherine). Ron's beloved grandchildren include Kathryn, Allison, Shannon, Emily, Lauren, Amanda and Chad Casey; his nieces, Lauren, Jacqueline and Nicole; and nephews, Sean and Danny. His sister-in-law, Elli Casey, and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins are left to miss his phone calls. Ron was predeceased by his brother, Robert J. Casey; nephew, Patrick; and niece, Michelle. Ron's furry neighborhood pals in Alpharetta, GA, will miss their greeter, almost as much as he will miss them. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, January 4, 2009, from 2-6 p.m. at Nunn & McGrath Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica, New York 13502. Funeral services will be Monday, January 5, 2009, at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home and 9:30 a.m. from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Utica, New York. A memorial service will be planned in Atlanta, GA, at a later date.
