BELANGER, Ronald - passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Friday, December 31, 2004 at the age of 70 years. Ronald Belanger was the beloved husband of Doreen (née Adams) and the loving father of Bryan (Joan, deceased) of North Bay, Cheryl (Grant) of Stroud and Paul (Sherri) of North Bay. He was the loving "Poppa" to six grandchildren, Shawn, Meghann, Daniel, Laura, Sarah and Kelli. Dear brother of Alcide (Dianne), Raymond (Barbara), Jackie (Vic, deceased), Linda (Mike) and Ona (Armand, deceased). Ronald J. Belanger was born February 25, 1934 to Victor Belanger and Malvina (née Lapensée) at North Bay. He grew up in North Bay and worked at various local business including Hockman Furniture and North Bay Dairy. Ron married Doreen Adams in September of 1953 in North Bay. In 1961 he started working for Texaco Canada, a career that would span 30 years. In 1978 Ron and Doreen transferred to Sault Ste. Marie. It was during this time that they met many new people and established a circle of close friends. Following the death of his beloved wife in 1989, Ron continued work in Sault Ste. Marie until his retirement in 1991. In 2000 Ron moved back to North Bay to be closer to home and family and in 2003 was blessed with his first great-grandchild Seamus. Ron was an avid hockey fan and his favorite saying was 'Go Leafs, go'. Family greeting friends at McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today from 10 until time of service in the funeral home chapel at 11:15 a.m. Luncheon will follow in the reception lounge.
