Rolla Louis Finn, age 95 of West Frankfort, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 10:05 a.m. at the Herrin Hospital. He was born July 16, 1913 in McLeansboro, Illinois to Purn Finn and Mayme ( Turner) Finn. He married Bertha A. (Metschulat) Finn and she survives. Besides his wife Bertha, he is also survived by a son, Rolla Revelle Finn of West Frankfort. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Howard and Robert Finn and by four sisters, Judy Purdy, Jean McGraw, Mildred Suger and Irene. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in West Frankfort and also the Local 551 of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. Mr. Finn served his country in the United States Navy. One of his hobbies was repairing lawn mowers for his neighbors Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Pastor Janice Devor officiating. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday to the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion's of Orient and Zeigler and the VFW of West Frankfort.
