Robertha-F. Johnson, conjointe de Willie Johnson, fille de Charlie et Cassie, mère de Jeannie Carlisle, est décédée. Veuillez consulter son avis de décès ici:
Unto Charlie and Cassie Faison in Troy, Ala., on July 9, 1929, a child was born. That child was named Robertha Johnson. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Robertha graduated from Rosenwald High School. She completed her higher education by receiving degrees from both Gulf Coast Community College and the University of West Florida. Robertha married her high school sweetheart, Willie S. Johnson, in 1948. To this union, no children were born. While Robertha had no biological children, she and Willie always had a love for children, reaching out to family children as if they were their own. In some cases, children within the family actually moved into their home.Robertha was employed in the Bay County Educational System, working at Shaw Elementary School and as a teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Florida Club as well as many other clubs and organizations for many years.Shortly after the 2006 death of her husband, Willie Johnson, her niece and nephew, Dorothy and Maurice Washington, relocated her to Accokeek, Md. After moving to Maryland, she also enjoyed spending time in Reading, Penn., with her God-daughter, Jeannie Carlisle Charles. About four years ago, while staying within 15 minutes of Dorothy, Robertha moved into her own Assisted Living Apartment at Morningside House of St. Charles, where she resided when the Lord called her home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.Robertha was preceded in death by her husband Willie S. Johnson; her parents, Charlie and Cassie Faison; three sisters, Mary Frances Roberson, Viola O'Bryant and Charlie Mae Jackson; and five brothers, Aaron, Moses, Robert, John Henry and James Faison. Robertha leaves to cherish her memories, one God-daughter, Jeannie Carlisle Charles; one sister, Annie Jewel Rogers of Panama City, FL; two sister-in-laws, Willie Ree Faison and Lillian Moore (Willie), both of Panama City, Fla., and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Family of God Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Groomes, officiating and the Rev. Leon Jones, Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church.Battle Memorial Funeral Home1123 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.Panama City, FL 32401850-763-4951
