WATTS-JONES Roberta "Dutchess" Watts-Jones departed this life peacefully, at home on Saturday, December 12, 2009 surrounded by family and friends. Roberta was born on July 2, 1948 to the late Annie (Wimbly) and Sydney Johns. She attended Boston Public Schools: graduating from St. Josephs’ Academy. During her lifetime she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Human Services. Roberta was a member of Jubilee Church in Mattapan and former member of Morning Star Baptist. Roberta sang with the Bay State Gospel Choir under the direction of Minister Freda Battle. She worked as a Receptionist for 10 years at the MWRA in Charlestown. She also worked as a Probation Officer, and many years as a Counselor for both F.I.R.S.T., Inc. and Women, Inc. She was also an AVON representative for many years. She had numerous professional affiliations and was an active member of City Life. Anyone who knew Roberta knew that she was a giver. She was always helping and giving of herself to somebody. She loved to travel with her long time dear friend, Faye Johnson: they took many trips together to the Caribbean. Roberta enjoyed her life to the fullest until she succumbed to her illness. She leaves to mourn her passing two sons: Sydney Johns (Gail) of Maryland. Clayton Watts of Boston: grandson Clayton, Jr., grand-daughter: Sydney Danielle; great grand-daughter Jayla Sky: one brother Sonny Lovelace and one surviving sister Wilma Hughes. Her dear friend of 43 years: Laurie Brown. God-daughter Melaurie Brown. Friend and care-giver Susan Mohammad: and a host of relatives and friends, much to many to name.
