JOHNSON, ROBERTA MONROE, 75, of Louisville, died on the morning of May 28, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. She died of complications of Multiple Myeloma. She was born on January 7, 1938, in Louisville to Robert Monroe, MD and Katherine Hatchett Monroe. Bobbie attended Atherton High School then Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She married Conley Johnson of Virgie, Kentucky, on February 14, 1964. After living in Cincinnati, OH and Chicago, IL, she returned to Louisville in 1975. She became the owner and director of Pre-School Prep Daycare Center on Eastern Parkway, a position she held for 24 years. She is still known by many in the Louisville community as "Miss Bobbie." After retiring in 1999, she volunteered countless hours at St. John Center for Homeless Men, as a volunteer coordinator for St. Agnes Catholic Church, and as an Airport Ambassador at Louisville Regional Airport Authority. She was honored with the ROSE Award by the Louisville Convention & Visitor's Bureau in Recognition of Service Excellence in 2007. Bobbie will be remembered most for her humor, her wonder for the world, and for her incredible generosity of time and spirit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Monroe. She is survived by her husband Conley Johnson; her daughters Kathy Johnson (Roy Kuroiwa) and Constance Johnson (Robert Bruns); her sister Anne Monroe Long; her grandchildren Benjamin and Julian Kuroiwa; her dear friends the Pfannerstill-Schnepf family and Dottie Howard; and her beloved dog Suzie Johnson. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Ave. at Barrett Avenue in the Highlands. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, followed by a private family burial service at Cave Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Bobbie's name can be sent to St. John Center for Homeless Men and Shamrock Pet Foundation.
