JOHNSON, ROBERTS, 85 Ocala - Mrs. Roberta Johnson, 85, Transitioned From This Life on Monday, September 1, 2008 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mrs. Johnson was born on May 23, 1923 in Grady County, Georgia. She attended Public School in Whigham, Georgia. In 1936 she met and later married the late Simon Johnson from Cottondale, Florida. They moved to Ocala, Florida in 1945. In early years in Ocala, she worked as a domestic but soon became a cook in several restaurants in including West Drive Inn. She was a member of Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member and president of the Usher Board. She is survived by her daughters; Zolene (Johnson) Bratton and her husband Melvin of Miami Gardens, Florida and Margaret A. (Johnson) McAllister and her husband George of Cambridge, Mass. four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great - great grandchildren. Her brother; Jesse Cowart of Miami, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Service for Mrs. Roberta Johnson age 85, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church 515 Northwest 6th Terrace, Ocala, Florida 34475 with the Reverend Dr. George W Lee, Pastor conducting the services. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Florida. Arrangements are under the care of SUMMERS FUNERAL HOME Inc. 2238 Northwest 10th Street, Ocala, Florida. 34475, 352-351-0566.
