<!-- FH = Greenfield Funeral Chapel, Greenfield, MO --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Roberta Jean "Bobbie" JohnsonRoberta Jean "Bobbie" Johnson, of Greenfield, Mo., departed this life on Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the Dade County Nursing Home. The daughter of Earle and Sarah "Sally" (Everingham) Blickenstaff was born May 11, 1923 in Breckenridge, Colo. Her father, being a mining engineer in her youth, led her family to many old mining towns of the west to include the old ghost town of Bodie, Calif., now a state park. Her high school years were present in part at AVJUHS in Lancaster, Calif. She attended one year at Antelope Jr. College before entering the University of Southern California School Of Pharmacy. Her junior year she married Conrad C. Johnson, Lieutenant Army Air Corps. While he served in his P-38 fighter squadron in the Aleutians she continued her education and graduated from USC with the class of 1944. After the war Conrad's military career led them to many cities and countries. Bobbie Jean and her two sons were in the first group of military dependents to go to Japan after WWII.Later another overseas tour was spent in Germany during the middle 1950's, and Bobbie enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. In fact she enjoyed travelling anywhere, anytime. When Conrad retired from the service in 1962 they moved to Buffalo, Mo. and lived there while building their home near Urbana, Mo. Because money was so short in retirement, Roberta happily sold World Book Encyclopedia until she took the Missouri Pharmacy Board. After obtaining her Missouri Pharmacy License she substituted for pharmacists in many towns in the area. Because of health problems she retired in 1989. In the 1980's she was member of Springfield Opera Guild. She and her husband were lifelong opera enthusiasts. When in Germany they attended the Wagnerian Opera Festival. She was an active member of the Urbana United Methodist Church. She dearly loved her Savior and attributed Him for the wonderful life she had. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Conrad, her sister, dear aunts and cousins, and parents. She is survived by three sons: James in Greenfield, Gerald in W. Va., and Frank in the rural Greenfield area. She was proud that all her sons and husband served in the military. She was enthusiastic about education and contributed greatly to her grandchildren's educational goals until the very last. She was ninety-one when cancer took her quickly. A simple graveside service for immediate family members was conducted at Corry Cemetery west of Dadeville. Her care in the Dade County RCF for a year and the Nursing Home for a little over a week was compassionate and commendable in all ways.Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com. Cremation arrangements were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
