Robert W. Amiro, 76, of Westborough died Sat. July 28, 2012 in the UMASS Medical Center, Lake St. Worcester. He was the husband of the late Jean (Dagle) Amiro who died in 2002. Mr. Amiro had been employed as Treasurer-Controller of J. L. Marshall & Sons Inc. in Seekonk for many years before his retirement. He had previously held Controller and Vice President positions at Bed & Bath Stores in Norwood, Cherry Webb & Touraine Stores in Pawtucket, RI and Wm. Filene's Sons & Co. in Boston. In his earlier years, he was the Senior Accountant for Peat, Marwick & Mitchell in Boston. Robert was born Oct. 6, 1935 in Boston, the son of the late William and Gertrude (LeBlanc) Amiro and had been a resident of Boston, Framingham, Franklin and Milford before moving to Westborough three years ago. He was a graduate of Boston College, Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Amiro enjoyed singing with the Northborough Area Community Chorus for many years and sang in the choir of St. Gabriel's Church in Upton. He formerly sang in the choirs of St. Michael's Church in Mendon and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford. Mr. Amiro is survived by one son; Michael J. Amiro of Woonsocket, RI, two daughters; Christine L. and her husband Mark Osinski of Milton, Michelle A. and her husband Jeffrey Schmitt of Mendon, one sister, Mary (Amiro) Maxim of North Attleboro, 4 grandchildren; Sam Schmitt, Ryan Schmitt, Jonathan Osinski and Emily Amiro, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Harold Amiro. Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held Thurs. Aug 2, 2012 at 9 AM from the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Gabriel Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St. Upton. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. Visiting hours will be Wed. Aug. 1, 2012 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
