Arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Bradenton Chapel.Survivors: His wife of 45 years, Merryl; a daughter, Tracy Gibbs of Myakka City; sons Tom of Sarasota and Rob of Bradenton; a sister, Carol Wessell of Riverview; brothers Elwin of Kansas and David of Caro, Ga., and two grandchildren.Eulogy:Robert served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s as a crew chief and flew all over the world.He was the former owner of Todd's Tavern in Fruitville, Sarasota. Robert started Todd's Oyster Bar in Bradenton from 1960 - 1963.He was a Realtor and broker from 1964. He owned Irongate Real Estate Co. He was a member of the Sahib Shrine and Masonic Lodge #31 and VFW.Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Bethany Baptist Church.
