Avis de décès de Robert-Stewart Singer

Robert Stewart Singer Robert Stewart Singer, 91, of Deptford, New Jersey, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on October 2, 2013 at his home. Born in 1922 in Oaklyn, NJ, Robert, "Bob" was the son of Floyd and Olga (nee Kukenbecker). He grew up in Oaklyn, spending many summers on the family farm in Tannersville, PA. He was working at RCA when at the age of 19, he enlisted in the Army. A World War II veteran, Bob served with the Army Air Corps and fought in the Pacific Campaign. It was during his basic training in Missouri that he met the love of his life, Ruby (nee Weeks). They corresponded throughout the war and married within weeks of his return to the US. Bob retired in 1985 from the Bell Telephone Co of Pennsylvania. Bob's favorite times were with his family, as evidenced by the many trips taken in the family camper across the US. Most every national park was visited during the 60s and 70s. After his retirement, he traveled to Alaska, Europe, Ecuador and the Panama Canal. In his later years, Bob's joys continued to be time spent with his family, in Ocean City, which became his second home, on a house-boat trip to the 1,000 Islands, camping, bicycling, playing with his great-granddaughters and just being together. He loved to fish, and passed that love down to his grandsons. Bob had a spirit of adventure and was always up for a road trip and a good meal, right up until his passing. Bob was a member of Solomon's Lodge No.3 Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, and was a Master Gardener of Camden County. Bob was predeceased by his wife Ruby in 1973 and his son John Scott in 2008. He is survived by his loving daughter Barbara and her husband Robert Mai, son Steven and wife Christine, grandchildren Jennifer, Erik, Erin, Joshua, JR, Casey, Lucas and Emily, his "doll-baby" great-granddaughters Brielle, Chloe, Ziva and Jocelyn, and his sister, Doris Walsh. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday, October 7, 2013, 9am to 11am at the BOUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 1757 Delsea Dr., Deptford, NJ. Masonic services will be at 11am Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Haddonfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Haddonfield, NJ. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Camden County Master Gardener's Association, 1301 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002-3752.
