ORMOND BEACH - Robert Dexter Ramsey, 56, of Willow Run, a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, died Sunday at Indigo Manor, Daytona Beach. Mr. Ramsey, who also retired from the Air Force, was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved here in 1985 from Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of the Islamic Center of Daytona Beach. A drummer, Mr. Ramsey marched with and was a member of the New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corp. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Bernadette; four daughters, Saidah Harris, Daytona Beach, Sakinah Bell, Ormond Beach, Amelia McCollin, Fort Lauderdale, and Erika Smith, Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Arthur Jr., Daytona Beach, and Arnold, Holly Hill; four sisters, Barbara Rodenbaugh, DeLand, Donna Brown, Stone Mountain, Ga., Michelle Johnson, Tennille, Ga., and Lestant Barnes, New York City; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Islamic Education Center, 206 Moore Ave., Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118; or the Islamic Center for the Needy, 347 S. Keech St., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
