Robert P. Buckley of BinghamtonRobert P. Buckley, 83, passed away Friday, February 22, 2002, at Wilson Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Louise Dudack Buckley in 1993. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Judith A. Buckley, Strongsville, Ohio, William W. and Diane M. Buckley, Binghamton; his loving grandchildren, William J. and Shannon Buckley, Florida, Jason C. Buckley and Casey Cutting, Florida, Robert E. Buckley, Ohio, Ryan M. Buckley and Danielle Montgomery, Florida, Mary E. Buckley, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Diane Buckley, Florida, and Robert Luke Buckley, Florida; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Bach, Binghamton, and Rita and Eugene Whitney, Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Michael and Margaret Pollie, formerly of Greene, N.Y.; also several wonderful nieces and nephews. Bob was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in the Medical Detachment 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, where he received the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster and a Purple Heart. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc., 71 Main St., Binghamton and at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
