Byline:Story Body:Robert BryantPUTNEY -- Robert Michael Bryant, 45, of River Road South, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 6, 2005, in Oklahoma City, Okla., from injuries he received following an accidental fall.Mr. Bryant was born in Brattleboro on Jan. 27, 1960, the son of Lawrence and Carol (Poynton) Bryant.He was raised and educated in Putney, attending Putney Central School and Brattleboro Union High School.Mr. Bryant was employed as a carpenter. Previously, he had worked for his family at Putney Nursery, Putney Paper Co., and Erving Paper Co.A quiet and unassuming person, he was a man of few words but when he spoke, whether they were funny or serious, they really counted. He was a faithful and devoted husband and loving father who loved people and adored children.An ardent outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and walks in the woods. He especially enjoyed sugaring, bird-watching and time shared with his family. For several years he was active in the Greater Brattleboro Men's Softball League.On March 28, 1986, in Virginia Beach, Va., he was married to Rosemary Hladky, who survives.Besides his wife of 19 years, he leaves one daughter, Kathleen Ayn Bryant; his mother, of Putney; one brother, Bruce Bryant of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Susan Rudolph of Berea, Ky., and Patricia Paduano of Pittsfield, Mass.; two nephews, Christopher and Ryan Paduano; a niece, Ashley Paduano; many other nieces and nephews in Virginia, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his beloved dog, “Little Bit.”He was predeceased by a son, Ian Robert Bryant, in 2002, and his father, in 2003.Funeral services to celebrate his life will be conducted today at 11 at the United Church of Putney on Kimball Hill with the Rev. Fred McLachlan of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Rev. Susan Tarolli of the United Church of Putney, officiating.Calling hours were held at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Monday.Memorial contributions in Mr. Bryant's name may be made to: The Ian Robert Bryant Memorial Scholarship, c/o River Valley Credit Union, Main Street, Putney, VT 05346, or to The Windham County Humane Society, 916 West River Road, Brattleboro, VT 05301.Arrangements are under the direction of the ATAMANIUK FUNERAL HOME in Brattleboro.
