Born in Bells, TN, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Todd and Ruby Duffey Todd. He is survived by his wife, Anne Upchurch Todd, and their children and grandchildren, Lee Anne Todd, her children, Eli and Ava; Robert Mainord Todd II, his wife Janet, their children, Makaela and Michael; son, Frank Duffey Todd, his wife Terri, their child, Kathlynn, and son, David William Todd, his wife Kim and their son, Will. Dr. Todd is survived by his brother, William Lee Todd and his wife, Merle of Germantown, TN.Dr. Todd, a graduate of Bells High School, Bells, TN, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin and his doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He served an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS, and an OB/GYN residency at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. After completing his service as a Captain in the United States Air Force at Reese Air Force Base at Lubbock, TX, he returned to Dallas in 1962 to begin his private OB/GYN practice of 36 years with Dr. Bruce Meek and Dr. William Rumsfeld. He began at Baylor Hospital and, soon after Presbyterian Hospital opened, he joined the staff there where he served in many capacities, including a term as Chief of Staff and induction as Staff Emeritus. Dr. Todd was board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he was a Fellow of the American Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He served in many positions, including President of the Southwest Gynecological Association. He was a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Todd was a very active and faithful member of Lover's Lane United Methodist Church of Dallas. He served in many positions, including Chairman of the Board, Chair of the Council on Ministries, greeter and supporter of the Young Adult Ministries. He extended his church service and shared his medical skills with a medical mission trip to work at Maua Methodist Hospital in Maua, Kenya and two mission trips to the McCurdy School at Espanola, NM. Dr. Todd enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, farming and other outdoor activities, and served a lifetime of devotion to God, family and his profession.The family of Dr. Todd sends its sincere thanks to the staff of Presbyterian Hospital, especially the third floor staff in the Hamon Intensive Care Unit, for the wonderful, loving care and support given to Dr. Todd and the entire family during his last days.A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2 p.m., at Lovers Lane Methodist Church, at 9200 Inwood Road in Dallas. A burial service for family members will be held at the Dallas-Ft.
