Robert L. Fallonlongtime resident of Westford; 79 WESTFORD -- Robert L. Fallon, 79, a longtime resident of Westford, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at Genesis Westford House, following a courageous battle with illness, with his loving wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Hain) Fallon, to whom he was married for 58 years. He was born in Scranton, PA on October 12, 1934, and was the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Kern) Fallon. He received his education in Pennsylvania schools and was a graduate of Reading High School. He also attended Temple University and Drexel University in Philadelphia. Robert served his country in the United States Army, 11th airborne division and was one of the nation's first Green Berets.Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer for over twenty years by Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard. Robert was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford, having served the church in various capacities including as a councilman, an usher, visitation, and acting as a communion assistant. He was also a member of the American Legion. When his children were younger he acted a Cub Master and a Scout Master. He was an avid tennis player and he enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He was a very accomplished painter and drawer. He was also a body builder and was named Mr. Berks County earlier in his life.Robert was a devout lover of dogs, especially his late dog Brady.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children; Dana R. Fallon and his wife Wendy of Island Heights, NJ, Derrick T. Fallon and his wife Pamela of Randolph, Nebraska, Douglas W. Fallon and his wife Lynn of Boxboro, and Tracey L. Roberts and her husband Bradley of Kildeer, IL; and six grandchildren, Colin T. Fallon, Ian P. Fallon, Davis W. Fallon, Payton R Fallon, Kendall B. Roberts, and Tyler Roberts.FALLON -- It being the family's wish, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Rd, Chelmsford, MA 01824. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
