Bogart - Robert John McKee II, age 66, of Pinenut Lane died on Tuesday, January 18, 2005.A native of Illinois, Mr. McKee was the son of the late Merle Clyde and Vivian Pauline Koontz McKee. A son, Darren Bradley McKee, preceded him in death. He had served as Military Police Officer in the United States Army Reserves for a number of years. Mr. McKee came to Athens with Roper Pump Company where he worked for over 26 years. Because of his lifelong love of music he was an avid audiophile as well as a recording and electronics enthusiast. He enjoyed building many audio electrons and speakers. He was also a member of the American Theater Organ Society (ATOS). Mr. McKee had homes in both Athens and in Lindenhurst, New York where he served as part-time Task Force Officer.Survivors include his wife DiAnn Barbara Allback McKee, of Bogart; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Richard and Joan McKee, of Savannah; brother, Dave McKee, Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Cookie Valentin, San Francisco, CA and Wendy Dewitt, Mt. Horb, WI; brother-in-law, Robert Allback and sister-in-law Millie Rogonski, both of Lindenhurst, NY; grandchildren, Cameron Taylor and Lauren McKee and his beloved pet Chihuahua, Linda Lou.Memorial services will be held at a later date and the family asks that in lieu of flowers for contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association, Corporate Square, Bldg. #1, Suite 127, Atlanta, GA 30329.Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.bernsteinfuneralhome.com.
