MACK Robert John Mack, 70, passed away May 27, 2006 in Gainesville, FL at the VA Hospital. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Robert served faithfully in the U.S. Navy as an aviator. He loved the water, spending time at the beach with his family swimming or surfcasting, and recounting his many adventures in the Navy. He was a compassionate and caring family man, who volunteered his time with the American Red Cross and their program called Road to Recovery in recent years, transporting those unable to do so, to medical appointments. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Frances Mack. He is survived by his children Karen Mack (Clark) Davis, Tina (Mike) Carpenter, Gary (Nan) Mack, and James Prevatt, II; grandchildren Robert, Stephanie, Megan, Jared, Emily, Zachary, Jessica, Juliann; sister Patricia (Arnold) Sacks; and many extended family and friends. The funeral service for Robert will take place graveside in Arlington Park Cemetery on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Robert Long officiating. Military honors will be rendered graveside for Robert's faithful service to his country.
