Robert John Eaton, 63, Sarasota, died Oct. 16, 2005. He was born Sept. 4, 1942, in East Cleveland, Ohio, and came to Sarasota in 1969 from Willowick, Ohio. He was a supervisor at GTE/Verizon, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League, all in Ohio. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sydney; sons Bob of Bradenton and John of Manatee County; a sister, Dianne Schaefer of North Olmstead, Ohio; brothers Roger of Lakewood, Ohio, and Ross of Sarasota; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with services at 2 p.m. Friday, at Robarts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sarasota Memorial Park.
