GRANITEVILLE - Robert J. Owen, 65, died unexpectedly Oct. 29, 2010, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. He was born March 6, 1945, in Rockville Center, N.Y., the son of Ernest and Helen (Kenny) Owen. Bob was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was married to Linda Milliman Nov. 28, 1969, in Baldwinsville, N.Y. Bob was a retired teacher, an avid gardener and a dedicated beachcomber. He is survived by his wife Linda Owen of Graniteville, a son Sean Owen and wife Sally of Graniteville, two daughters; Catherine Owen and David Pecor of North Montpelier and Marisa Craige and husband David, three grandchildren; Jack Thompson, Alyssa Craige and Bella Craige, two brothers; Richard Owen of Huntington, N.Y. and Thomas Owen and wife Donna of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., a sister Marianne Owen of Waterbury and his lifelong friend Robert Burge of Waitsfield. A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 1 p.m. at the Barre Opera House. All are welcome. There are no calling hours. Online condolences may be left at owen/48@yahoo.com.
