Dr. Robert H. JacksonDecatur1936-2012Dr. Robert H. "Bob" Jackson, 75, of Decatur died Friday, January 13, 2012, in Brandon, Mississippi, at a Romanian American Mission (RAM) meeting. Dr. Jackson was born in Century, Florida, but he grew up in Flomaton, Alabama, the hometown of his heart. Dr. Jackson graduated from Flomaton High School; received a BS in History from what is now Samford University; received an MDiv and PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Jackson spent his life serving the Lord and others. He pastored churches in Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky and Mississippi. On two separate occasions, he served with his son, Dr. Robert E. Jackson. Dr. Jackson was the founder and President of the Romanian American Mission Organization. Survivors include his wife, Abigail Jones Jackson; daughter, Jeannece Jackson (Dennis) Luhrs, of Frankfort, Ky.; son, Dr. Robert E (Tonya) Jackson of Decatur; grandchildren, Jake Hart of Memphis, Tenn., Luke Hart of Frankfort, Ky., and Abigail Jackson of Decatur; three step-grandchildren, Adam M. Luhrs of Prospect, Ky., Rebecca Luhrs of Lincoln, Neb., and Aaron Luhrs of Frankfort, Ky.Funeral services were held Monday, January 16, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert E. Jackson, Dr. Cristi Chivu, the Rev. Lawrence Baldridge and Dr. Jerry Keese officiating.Pallbearers were Jake Hart, Luke Hart, Aaron Luhrs, Dennis Luhrs, Rick Williams and Pellar Webb. The body was interred at Flomaton Cemetery.The family entrusted Flomaton Funeral Home with arrangements.
