TROY Robert H. Bob Finn, 80, of Seventh Avenue, beloved husband of over 57 years to Dolores M. Fleming Finn of Troy, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born on February 25, 1926 in Troy, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Marie Ruff Finn and was a graduate of the class of 1944 from Catholic Central High School in Troy. Mr. Finn was an aviation radioman third class in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the American Theater, Asiatic Pacific, Air Crewman Insignia and Victory Medals. He was also enlisted in the Navy Reserve from May 29, 1946 until May 28, 1954. He retired from Nashua Corp. (formerly Norton Co.) in Watervliet after having been employed there for 30 consecutive years and had previously been employed for 15 years at the former John A. Manning Paper Co. in Green Island. Bob was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Troy where he also served as a lector, was a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks #141, Troy Germania Hall and the Norton Retirees with whom he participated in weekly bocce matches held at the Troy I.C.C. A dedicated sports enthusiast, Bob was a fan of all New York sports teams, most particularly the Yankees and Giants. Devoted father of Robert Finn of Coral Springs, Fla., Christine Wagar, Michael Finn, Timothy (Rhonda) Finn, all of Troy, and Susan (John) Cardinuto of Gansevoort; brother of the late Jeanne Cipollina; cherished grandfather of Brian, Laura, Ryan and Annie Finn and Anthony, Erica and Sara Cardinuto; also survived a special cousin, Kathleen McQuide of Troy; cousin, Greg Ruff of Catskill; two nieces and one nephew. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (corner of Fourth Avenue and 115th Street) in Lansingburgh, thence to St. Patrick's Church, 3027 Sixth Avenue in Troy, where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 3027 Sixth Avenue, Troy, NY 12180, in memory of Robert H. Finn.
