Robert H. Golding Whiting Robert H. Golding, age 83, of Whiting, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2004. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Florence (nee Choltye), and devoted daughters: Patricia (Steven) Timothy of Chicago, Peggy (Donald) King of Schererville and Mary Golding of East Chicago; two grandchildren, Robert (Kaycie) King and Kara King; and one brother, James (Barbara) Golding of Waukesha, WI. He was preceded in death by parents, George and Agnes Golding and his sister, Corliss (Olin) Lutes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, IN, and 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, with Msgr. Joseph Semancik and Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S. officiating. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation Friday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Members of St. John Parish will offer prayers at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Friday. Mr. Golding was a lifelong resident of Whiting; retired from Amoco Oil Company in 1981 with 39 years of service; a WWII Veteran where he served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corps; member of VFW Walter Kleiber Post 2724, who will hold services 7:30 p.m. Friday, and American Legion Post 80, who will hold services at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Golding was known for his honest opinions and his love of a home cooked meal. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at their cottage at Bass Lake. His family will love and miss him forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. 219-659-4400
