ObituaryROBERT G. JOHNSONITHACA - Robert G. Johnson of 19 Horizon Dr., Ithaca, passed away on April 27, 2003 at Hospice after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 10, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN to Margie and C. Gunnard Johnson, both deceased.He is survived by his wife, Mable "Billie" Johnson; son, Karl G. Johnson and wife Nancy of Delmar, NY.; daughters, Jennifer Campbell and Jane Johnson of Denver, CO; granddaughters, Kerry and Alissa Johnson; and sister, Helen Miller and husband George of Burlington, NC.Robert "Bob" was a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Business. He and his family moved to Ithaca in 1957 to assume management and later with his wife Billie, the ownership of the Triangle Book Shop in Collegetown. In 1986 they sold their business and retired.Bob served in the Marine Corps artillery during WWII and the Korean War, attaining the rank of Captain.Bob was active in the Chamber of Commerce, becoming a Life Member in 1987. He was also a Life Member of the College Stores Association of NY State. He was a former President of the Cayuga Medical Center Foundation and former President and member of Collegetown Merchants Association. He also was a member of the Ithaca Rotary Club since 1957, with Billie, a member of the Friends of Ithaca College and The Country Club of Ithaca.Bob served in a variety of capacities at St. Luke Lutheran Church where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wed., April 30, with arrangements by Bangs Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, Building Fund.
