EngineerWINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Robert A. Elliott of Winter Haven died of cancer Thursday (Jan. 8, 2004) at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. He was 84.Born in Rhinelander, Wis., on May 28, 1919, he came to Winter Haven from Eau Claire, Wis., in 1981. He was an engineer for Wisconsin Telephone Co. for 35 years, and past president of the Telephone Pioneers. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an Eagle Scout and a volunteer at the YMCA in Beaver Dam, Wis. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Beaver Dam and Eau Claire. He was a member of the Homeowners Association at Cypresswood. He was a member of St. John's U.M.C. United Methodist Church.Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his wife, Susan M. Elliott. He is survived by his daughters, Janet Roberts, Kathryn Scott, both of Augusta, Wis., Sarah Voisard, Winter Haven, Joanie Peterson, Black River Falls, Wis.; brothers, Norman Elliott, Eau Claire, Wis., Arthur Elliott, Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.Services will be at 2 this afternoon at St. John's United Methodist Church.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, 33823, or St. John's United Methodist U.M.C.
