SMITH Robert E. "Bob" Smith Jr., 87 of St. Petersburg, Formerly of Neptune Beach died Saturday May 27, 2006 at Ed White Hospital. Born in Atlanta, GA., he came here in 1989 from Neptune Beach, FL. He was a retired Colonel United States Marine Corps, having served during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. With 26 years of service, highly decorated With the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, American Defense Service Medal, America Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Victory Medal World War II, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal and later was a teacher in Mayport Junior High School for 17 years, and a avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Doris E. - St. Petersburg, a daughter Judith R. "Judy" Hales - St. Petersburg, a son Robert E.
