LEE, ROBERT E 88, passed away on April 3, 2011. He was born in Birmingham, AL on 23 August 1922, a son of the late Luther Benson and Georgia Fraser Lee. He attended Ensley High School and served in the Army in World War II. Following his time in the Service, he had a successful career with the U.S. Postal Service. Robert was a zealous member of Civitan International. He served as the President of the Gardendale Civitan Club for 19 years. Besides his work as a local club president, he was a tireless recruiter and avid club builder for Civitan International. He was awarded all of the different honors bestowed by Civitan International in recognition of his dedicated service. Robert was married to his beloved wife, the late Sybil Harris Lee for 62 years. He is survived by his three sons, Dwight E. Lee and his wife Donna of Pawleys Island, SC, G. Douglas Lee and his wife Susan of Homewood, AL, and Terry D. Lee and his wife Janet of Birmingham, AL; his nine grandchildren, Deborah Lee-Reid of Newton, CT, Delinda Giles of Jacksonville, NC, Dana Lee of Pawleys Island, SC, Robbie Lee of Birmingham, AL, Michael Lee of Birmingham, AL, Zachery Lee of Burlington KY, Benjamin Lee of Burlington, KY, Megan Finch of Pelham, AL, and Quincy Marlin of Homewood, AL. There are also six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11 AM at Gardendale Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Civitan International Research Fund at P.O.
