Mr. Robert W. Davis, of 11 Plantation Road, after a long illness, departed this life on Thursday, June 23, 2005.Affectionately known by his friends and loved ones as "Jake," he was born on April 22, 1942, to the late Otis and Ella Davis. He was the youngest surviving son of the 13 children.He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Mrs. Susan Davis of the home; two children: a son, Mr. Robbie Davis Thompson; and a daughter, Mrs. Jeretta Clinkscale. He leaves a brother, Mr. Otis (Delphine) Davis of Mauldin, S.C.; and five sisters, Mrs. Margaret "Tot-Tot" Pinson, Mrs. Barbara J. Walker, and Mrs. Selean Pepper, all of Greenville, S.C., Ms. Celeste Sweeney of Columbia, S.C., and Dr. Inez Davis Thomas (Dr. Norman Thomas Sr.), of Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother-in-law, Mr. Preston Posley of Greenville, S.C. He also leaves an aunt, Mrs. Felicia Byrd; a father-in-law, Mr. McCoy; and a host of devoted and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Rock Hill Baptist Church #2, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Twilight services will be this evening, June 25, 2005, from 7 to 8 p.m.In lieu of flowers, make all contributions to Rock Hill Baptist Church #2 Building Fund. -- S.C.
