CASEY _ Robert James Bob Casey passed away quietly at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert on October 6, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife, Olive; his son, Allan (Marlene Yuzak); two grand-children, Esther and Lewis; brothers, Patrick (Jean) of Regina and Russell of Prince Albert. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Phillip Allan and Esther, and by brother Arnold (Joan) of Calgary. All his life, Bob contributed much to the community in his beloved city of Prince Albert, and to the city of North Battleford where he lived from 1946 to 1957. He joined the Knights of Columbus as a teenager and the joined the 4th Degree in North Battleford, where he served as a separate school trustee. He was particularly active in the Kinsmen club, and was elected National President in 1962. He held office in numerous other organizations in Prince Albert and beyond: the Rotary club, the Holy Family Hospital Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the Saskatchewan Real Estate Board. He helped develop the John M. Cuelenaere Library and, more recently, the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts. He was a valued member of the Sacred Heart Parish all his life, and chaired the Cathedral restoration project. He provided valued service and advice to many fraternities within the church, the Sisters of Providence, Presentation of Mary, the Oblate Fathers to name a few. In 1974 he was named Citizen of the Year. He received the Samuel McLeod Legacy Award in 1995. Above all, Bob valued his relationships with people, whether family, friends or associations made in his long career in real estate. He was a wonderful mentor to younger people and will be sadly missed by the many adopted nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Bob. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, to the Sacred Heart Cathedral, or to a charity of the donor's choice. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th, 2003 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Ave. W., Prince Albert. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10th, 2003, also at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment will follow in South Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
