Robert "Robbie" Cameron Johnson November 24, 1988 - September 19, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) JOHNSON, Robert Cameron "Robbie" - 1988-2004. It is with deepest sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our only child, Robert "Robbie" Cameron Johnson. Robbie passed away quietly and comfortably at home early Sunday, September 19, 2004, after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The son of Cathy (Cameron) Johnson and Robert Johnson, Robbie was born at the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax November 24, 1988. Robbie was a grade 10 student at Auburn High School in Cole Harbour. He was a very active child and a regular participant in the Cole Harbour Minor Hockey Association, last playing for the Cole Harbour "AA" Bantam Team. Additionally, he played many years in the Cole Harbour Minor Baseball Association and was a Level Three Referee with Soccer Nova Scotia. He truly loved the outdoors including skiing, snowboarding, swimming, golfing and ATVing. He played trumpet in the Astral Drive Junior High School band. Robbie enjoyed spending his summers at Cribbon's Beach in Antigonish with his grandparents, Junior and Margie, and in East Jeddore with Aunt Sandra and Uncle Dave and spending time with his many aunts, uncles and cousins and his dog Maxine. Robbie is survived by his parents, Robert and Cathy Johnson; grandparents, Junior (Allan D.) and Margie Cameron, Antigonish; Robert Douglas Johnson, Smiths Falls, Ont.; loving aunts, Margaret Ann Cameron and Trisha Cameron-MacDonnell, Antigonish; Stephanie (Craig) Pitcher, Bedford, and his loving uncles, Allan Cameron, Victoria, B.C.; David (Sandra), Jim (Karen) Johnson, all of Dartmouth. Also, near and dear to Robbie's heart, his special cousins, Alexandra MacDonnell, Antigonish; Jeanette "J"" and Mike Johnson, Alexa and Matthew Johnson, Dartmouth). Robbie is also survived by many greataunts and uncles in Antigonish, Dartmouth, Texas and Ontario. Robbie was predeceased by his grandmother, Catherine (Arnold) Johnson; great-grandparents, Catherine and Allan D. Cameron, Jack and Ellen Cook, Weldon and Ida Arnold, and Raymond and Greta Johnson. We wish to extend special thanks to all our friends and family who supported us during this difficult time especially Aunt Mary, Aunt Sandra and Jayne Chisholm. A special place will always be in our hearts for Dean Dachyshyn, Major Stuart Lawrie, and Allie MacDonald. Your compassion and never-ending efforts to bring special moments to Robbie will always be remembered and appreciated. And special thanks to the incredible caring staff of the IWK Health Centre 6 North Unit, especially Dr. Conrad Fernandez, Dr. Bruce Crooks, Dr. Peggy Yapp; Dr. Dorothy Bernard, and the loving care provided by the nursing staff of 6 North; especially Estelle; Lindsay, Annette, and Maureen (Magoo) and outpatient care co-ordinators Gloria and Kelly. These courageous people showed great dignity and compassion and made the final months of Robbie's life as comfortable as possible. Also, special thanks to Dr. Gerri Fragger and Ruby MacDonald from the Palliative Care team. These very special people made it possible for Robbie to spend his final days comfortably at home with his loved ones and family at his side. Visitation will be in Atlantic Funeral Homes on Main Street in Dartmouth adjacent Montaque Road, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Pope John XXIII Church, corner of Cumberland and Colby Drive, Wednesday, September 22, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Family Flowers only please. Donations can be made to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada or the 6th Floor North Unit of IWK Health Centre. Until we meet again.
