NurseWINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Rita M. Smith of Winter Haven died of respiratory failure Friday (Aug. 4, 2006) at Tandem Health Care of Winter Haven. She was 86.Born Nov. 11, 1919, in Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Smith moved to Winter Haven from Ohio in 1964. She worked as a nurse. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women's Guild.Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Smith. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Chip Smith, Winter Haven, Dr. Marty Smith, Bradenton; brother, Bob Bergmann, Canton, Ohio; sisters, Lucille Riggle, Canton, Bernice Lennox, Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven.
