She was a homemaker and formerly employed with Microswitch. She was a former member of Arrington Branch Baptist Church and currently a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Cleophus and Dallie "Ted" Willis Arrington.Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Orben Smith whom she dearly loved; sister, Ruby Willis of Mars Hill; brother, Earl Arrington of Weaverville; mother-in-law, Catherine Smith of Fletcher; nieces and nephews, Pam Chandler, Larry Willis, and Carol Metcalf.Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to services.At other times, the family will be at the residence.Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 305 Locust Grove Rd., Weaverville, NC 28787.For those who desire, condolences may be offered to the family under Mrs. Smith's obituary at www.WestFamilyFuneralServices.com.
