Richard Stuart     Marr, 78     GORHAM -- Richard S. Marr, 78, of Gorham, a former resident of South Portland of 40 years died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a battle with cancer.     Richard was born in Waterville, the son of Gordon and Dorothy Odlin Marr. He was educated and a graduate of Cony High School class of 1947. He graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in Business.     Richard entered the United States Air force and served honorably during World War II and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Down East Ski Club for 42 years and was a volunteer safety patroller for over 17 years at Shawnee Peak, retiring at age of 76.     He worked and retired as a Pharmaceutical Representative from Glaxo Smith Klein. Richard loved the outdoors, hiking with family and friends, skiing, camping, biking, and took up kayaking for his 75th birthday. His most important values were the love of his family, commitment to community and appreciation of nature.     Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline Giguere Marr of Gorham; son Jeff and his wife Lisa Marr of Scarborough, daughters Cheryl and her husband Paul Rawson of Windham, Valerie Ross of Hallowell; five grandchildren Jonathan and Kimberly Marr, Christine and Sarah Mallory, Steven Murray; and two great-grandchildren, Nadia and Calvin.     There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gorham. Interment will be private at a later date.
