Richard Robert Raymond, 58, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, at Bolton Manor in Marlborough after a short illness. He was the son of the late Edward and Mildred (Atchue) Raymond and brother of the late Edward Butch Raymond. He is survived by his brother, Dennis J. Raymond and his wife, Therese, of Westborough, along with their son. He is also survived by an aunt, Ethel Orlando of Westborough and another aunt, cousins and nephews. Richard, also known as Buzzard to his friends, enjoyed car racing, fishing and working around the house. He also loved spending time with his dog, Bud, and his two cats. Richard served in the Army National Guard for six years where he was classified as a marksman M-16 rifle, first class. Richard worked for R.B. Johnson Construction. He also worked for WR Grant doing grounds maintenance at Bay State Abrasives. He also worked for Orlando Excavating for a short time, then for Stonebridge Building. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home (brittonsummers.westboroughfuneralhome.com), 4 Church St., Westborough. A private graveside service will be held in St. Lukes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Sterling Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564 or to the VCA Westborough Animal Hospital, 155 Turnpike Road, Westborough, MA 01581.
