EAST FALMOUTH Richard M.(Dick) Davis, 81, passed away on January 1, 2009 at Harborside Healthcare in Mashpee after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Estella B. (Swindler) Davis for 45 years. Born in Forest Hills, Dick was a resident of Holbrook and Braintree before moving to East Falmouth 30 years ago. He graduated from Sumner High School in Holbrook and Burdett College, was in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked in the shipping and trucking industry. Dick was devoted to his wife, enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, reading and he especially liked telling a good joke. Besides his wife, Dick is survived by 11 nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harry Davis and Donald Davis. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. at Route 151, MASHPEE, MA 02649. The visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
