ZEPHRYHILLS, Fla. ; Richard E. Lemay, 76, passed away after a brief illness Aug. 10, 2009.Richard was born in Willamantic, Conn., July 22, 1933, to Zepherin and Olida (Boulanger) Lemay. He was raised in Rollinsford, N.H., and attended St. Mary's School in Rollinsford. Richard retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He also retired from the National Guard. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955 on the USS Hale. He was a 50-year member of Post 47 American Legion in Rollinsford.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra (Sullivan) Lemay. Also his seven children, Donna Joncas, Lebanon, Maine, Richard II of Rollinsford, N.H., Robin McCabe of Somersworth, N.H., Donald of Westminster, Colo., Peter, Jeffrey and Jason of Zephyrhills; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Emerson of Farmington, N.H.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.Arrangements were by the Whitfield Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, Fla.
