Retired General Manager - Fairway Outdoor Advertising AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Richard Kenneth Johnson, 64, entered into heaven on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Bill Hilley officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Johnson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1942. He joined Naegele Outdoor Advertising in 1959 working in the operations department. Prior to becoming National Director of Operations of Naegele in 1985, Mr. Johnson was Vice President of Operations for North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia for 8 years. Mr. Johnson was promoted to General Manager of Fairway Outdoor Advertising in 1998 and served in this position until his retirement in January 2004. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) for 3 years. Mr. Johnson leaves behind his loving wife, Heidi L. Johnson; his 3 sons, Lance K. Johnson and Chad R. Johnson both of Martinez and James P. Harber of Winder, Georgia; and also his two beautiful grandchildren, Caden and Kaylee Johnson; his sister, Shirley Ganglehoff and her husband Tom of Richfield, Minn.; and his brother, William L. Johnson of Brooklyn Center, Minn. Pallbearers will be Jason Watson, Larry Cushman, Derwin Greene, Billy Hopkins, Bobby Lee Jones, and Arnold Banks. The gentlemen serving as pallbearers are asked to arrive at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The family will receive friends on Friday night, September 14, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Platt's Funeral Home on Belair Rd. Platt's Funeral Home, 337 N. Belair Rd., Evans, Ga.
