Richard Ames, né en 1929, conjoint de Marjorie Sterett, fils de Newell et Ruth, père de David, Anne, N. J, Suzanne et Paul, est décédé le 10 mai 2013 à l'âge de 84 ans.
Richard Ames, 84, of Heath Village, Hackettstown, N.J., formerly of Verona, N.J., died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 214 Washington St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. The Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, is in charge of the arrangements. Born in New Britian, Conn., Richard was a son of the late Newell and Ruth Ames. He was a graduate of Harvard University and earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He had worked as an accountant for The Equitable in New York City. He served stateside in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Richard had been an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Verona, N.J., and a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Hackettstown, the Caldwell Old Guard Bowling League and the West Essex Masonic Lodge F&AM, and served as treasurer and board member of the Deer Lake Club in Boonton, N.J. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie (nee Sterett); a son, David Ames and his wife, Anne, of Sparta, N.J.; a daughter, Suzanne Smith and her husband, Paul, of Hillsboro, N.J., and six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Brian Biglin, Monica Smith, Connor O'Leary, David Ames, Jr. and Julianne Ames. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. James Episcopal Church would be appreciated.
