HENDRICKS, REV. JAMES PHILIP 70, of Louisville, passed away Thursday at Nazareth Home. Father was ordained to the priesthood on June 11, 1960, and served the Archdiocese of Louisville as both an associate pastor and pastor for 41 years. His first assignment was as an associate pastor at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church from 1960-1966. He also served as an associate pastor at St. Columba Catholic Church from 1966- 1972, SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church from 1972-1974 and at St. Rita Catholic Church from 1974- 1975. In 1975, Father Hendricks became the pastor of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church and served there until 1985. He was the pastor at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church from 1985-1995 and served both St. Denis Catholic Church and St. Basil Catholic Church as pastor from 1995 until his retirement. Father Jim served on numerous boards and committees in the archdiocese and community throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phil J. Hendricks and Angela Ackerman Hendricks Blackerby. Father Jim is survived by Joan Raap and Rosie Ratterman, both of whom cared for him, numerous cousins and many dear friends. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, Lancashire Ave. at Bards-town Road, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd., and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Denis Catholic Church.
