The funeral service for Hearst resident Réjeanne (née Lafontaine) Baron, 69, was held Nov. 21, 2006. She died Nov. 17 at Notre-Dame Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 15, 1937 in La Sarre, Abitibi, Québec, she was a sympathetic, courageous, jovial people person who was always ready to help others. She enjoyed reading and camping. She was predeceased by her husband Roger Baron in 1984, her father Wilfrid Lafontaine in 1994, a brother Yvon Lafontaine, sister Jacqueline Levesque in 1997, and two brothers-in-law, all of Hearst. She leaves her mother Jeanne Lafontaine of Hearst, a daughter Johanne (Réal) Larocque of Kitchener, a son Yvon Baron and sister Diane Lafontaine, both of Hearst, and granddaughter Kayla and grandson Kevin of Kitchener. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the morning service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at Monsignor Pierre Grenier Cemetery. Commemorative donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
