Dr. Reginald D. Jordan Dr. Reginald David Jordan, a large- and small-animal veterinarian for Jefferson County and surrounding communities for 25 years, died Friday, March 3, 2006. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 11 a.m. EST Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Monticello. Family is handling arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Wildlife Refuge, P.O Box 38160, Tallahassee, FL 32315; Jefferson County Public Library, 375 Water St., Monticello, FL 32344; or other chartable organizations. As an active member of the community, he was a former president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Jefferson County Country Club, the Historical Society, a former Ducks Unlimited chairman and a member of the Jacksonville Ski Club.He was an avid golfer, tennis player and horseback rider and an accomplished guitar player. He was president of the PTA when his children were in grammar school. He served in the U.S. Navy and Army as an officer. Dr. Jordan provided excellent and compassionate care for animals and adopted and placed many strays.Survivors include his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Lee (and husband Brian); two grandchildren; a son, Ken; his mother, Ann; and a sister, Beth. He was well loved and will be deeply missed by all.
