Rebecca Williams, 93, Springfield, Missouri, died March 1, 2006, in her home at Culpepper Place. Mary Rebecca Bennett was born August 29, 1912, three miles north of Wheatland, Missouri, in Hickory County. Her parents were Harry and Cleo Bennett, well known farmers of the area. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1929 and attended Springfield College. She taught school at Union School and White Cloud. She married Herbert Williams in Ava, Missouri, April 22, 1932. He preceded her in death February 19, 1995. After marriage they lived in Buffalo, Missouri, later moving to Kansas City. She graduated from beauty college in Kansas City. She worked at the downtown F.W. Woolworth store in Kansas City as a department manager. Later she worked for National Bellas Hess as a buyer for a catalogue department. After retirement, they moved to Hickory County, where they lived several years until moving to Springfield, Missouri. Rebecca had a sister, Kathryn Parker of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, who preceded her in death January 4, 1984. She is survived by her sister, Helen Mabry of Poplar Bluff, Missouri brother, Harry W. Bennett and her very special sister-in-law, Leola Bennett of Blue Springs, Missouri. She will be missed by her niece, Nancy and husband, Mike Good, of Springfield, Missouri, who have watched over her her nephew, Harry E. Bennett and wife, Margie, of Marion, Kansas nephew, Roger Bennett and wife, Beth, of Blue Springs, Missouri great-nieces and nephews, Hannah, Eliza, Hallie, Weston, and Seth Bennett and great-nieces, Amy, Rebecca and Laura Good. Rebecca's family is grateful to Culpepper Place for providing her a wonderful home and to Cox South third floor staff, Integrity Home Care, and Community Hospice for the loving care in her final days. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverbluff Fellowship Building Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 525 South Ave., Springfield, MO 65802 or Community Hospice, 1465 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65807.
