>MILLER, Raymond C., died peacefully at his home Friday, April 27, 2007. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Julie and his sister, Sandra Ortwein. Raymond Miller was executive director of the Hilisborough Area Regional Transit from January 2005 until the present. Raymond was a nationally respected leader in public transit for over 25 years. Prior to his move to Tampa, he served as executive director of the Delaware Transit Corp. Under his leadership, DTC was named Most Outstanding System, 2003, by the American Public Transit Association. Mr. Miller worked for the Central Ohio Transit Authority from 1994 to 1999. He began his career at the Utah Transit Authority in 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he met his wife of 27 years, Julie. He is survived by Julie, his sister Sandra Ortwein of Baltimore, Md.; his father, Sterling Miller of Bethlehem, Pa.; nieces, Christine Kessler of Mercer Island, Wash., and Suzanne Myers of Roswell, Ga., and nephew, Matthew Ortwein of Baltimore, and family members of wife, Julie McGuire Miller. Raymond, a great outdoorsman, was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles sports teams and his alma mater' s The Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions football team. Raymond, generous of spirit and laughter, will be dearly missed by those who loved him and all those whose lives he touched. Born October 19, 1948, in Bethlehem, Raymond will return home to be laid to rest. Funeral services will take place at Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Life Path Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609.
