Raymond Lee Davis, 83, longtime resident of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. Visitation is noon Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Lakewood Funeral Home in Clinton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lakewood Chapel with interment to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.Mr. Davis was born in Virginia in 1930 to Henry R. Davis and Pearl Royal Davis. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After military service, he moved to Florida and started his own construction company. In 1969, he then moved to El Paso, Texas, for two years, followed by a move to Hokes Bluff, Ala., for 11 years. He later moved to the Jackson, Miss., area where he owned Raymond Davis Construction. He provided more than 30 years of construction services to Baptist Medical Center and was still actively working until a couple of years ago. Mr. Davis was a member of St. Richard's Catholic Church in Jackson. He is remembered by many as a dedicated, kind, honest, genuine, loving, generous person with an exceptional love for life, family and friends. He was always thinking of others before himself. He will be greatly missed.He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Betsy Reardon and Virginia Holstein; his son-in-law, Larry Clark; and his first wife, Gloria Odell Davis. He leaves behind loving memories of him to be cherished by his children and their spouses, Raymond F. Davis (Maggie) of El Paso, Texas, Dianne L. Burns (Eddie) of Virginia, Karen Davis Clark of Clinton, Miss., Richard F. Davis (Scottie) of Boaz, Ala., Nancy Bolyard of Hoover, Ala., and Angie White (Todd) of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Burns, Justin Davis, Jeremiah Davis, Samantha (Keith) Douglas, Christopher Davis, Katy Davis, Shane Lightsey, Julie White and David White; a brother, David Davis of Winston, Ore.; two sisters, Betty Maxey of Farmville, Va., and Pearl Scarboro of Richardson, Texas; and good friend and former wife, Wilma Davis of Memphis, Tenn."You will fill me with joy in your presence …" - Psalm 16:11
