Raoul P. 'Ralph' TessierLoving husband, father, pepere and pep LOWELL -- Raoul P. "Ralph" Tessier, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Palm Manor in Chelmsford, after an extended illness.He was the beloved husband of Therese B. (Guilbeault) Tessier with whom he celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on September 1st.Ralph was born in Lowell on November 7, 1925, a son of the late Philip and Roseanna (Mason) Tessier.For the past 51 years, he resided in the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and was a US Navy veteran of WWII.Prior to his retirement, Ralph was employed as a chief engineer with the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell for 23 years.He was a member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks, American Legion Post #87, Franco American War Veterans and the Knights of Columbus in Dracut.Ralph enjoyed stamp and coin collecting.Besides his wife, Therese, he is survived by his children, Aline R. Houghtaling and her husband, Robert of Lowell, Diane C. Efstathiou of Dracut, George J. Tessier and his wife, Lynne of Lowell, and Paul E. Tessier and his companion, Carmen Santana of Lawrence; his step-daughter, Pauline Scoby and her family of Erie, Colorado; a sister, Anna Rondeau and her husband, Emile of Dracut; a brother-in-law, Albert Hebert of Lowell; five grandchildren, Sara McAllister and her husband, Jason, John Efstathiou and his wife, Alison, all of Dracut, Scott Houghtaling, Julie and Kevin Tessier, all of Lowell; a great-grandson, Zachary 'Boy" Santiago; also many nieces and nephews.He was also the brother of the late Roland Tessier and Rita Hebert.Uncle Ralph and his family would like to thank the staff at Palm Center, C wing for the exceptional care he received during the past year.TESSIER -- Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday morning, Sept. 24, from 10 until 11 am. A prayer service and interment will follow at 11:30 am at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, Chelmsford.
